Did George Jeffreys marry? Also do you know where his grave is located?

In answer to your first question no George Jeffreys did not ever marry, he did have a housekeeper who married after George Jeffries Died. George Jeffries had a policy of being totally sold out to the Lords work and some other members followed this policy, which allowed them complete devotion to being able to travel in the extensive way that they did around the UK and around the world. My Mother knew George Jeffries housekeeper well, she was very protective of folk just turning up at his home in Clapham London. One day Reinhard Bonnke turned up and was almost turned away except the Principle heard the conversation at the door and welcomed Reinhard Bonnke in and prayed for him.

After George Jeffries death, members of the revival party did marry despite being older men! No doubt you will remember what the Bible says about 1 Corinthians 7:32-33King James Version (KJV)

³²But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:
³³But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife. Some very hurtful remarks suggested George Jeffries may have been gay due to not marring. Nevertheless, my mother who had very close access to Him and his fellow workers and pastors would have found these remarks deeply offensive and untrue. I believe the scripture above would explain his view of why he remained single. When George Jeffries died, he was totally exhausted and spent from his extensive work for the Lord from his extensive crusades, the establishment of the Elim denomination and the sad split and formation of the Bible Patten church.
In answer to your second question I have visited George Jeffries grave in Streatham London. I was able to find it incredibly thanks to some pictures from the copy of the Bible Pattern magazine.

Please excuse the detailed reply; it is rare these days that folk take any interest. Much of what I have shared and be researched and confirmed in many of the articles found on the website using the search engine. I hope this information helps.

Elim pictures HAVE A LOOK WHILST YOU CAN !

As you have seen at the lower part of this web page, I have spent many hours obtaining scanning and making freely availible pictures of the Jeffreys brothers and the meeting they conducted.

Many of these can now also be seen on Google images. I have not restricted there use so that they can be seen by as many folk as possible.

During the last year I am of the belief that Elim have used some of these pictures. Dispite this I have never been contacted to ask permission or given any acknowledgment.

Discover the work of Elim in Scotland

As Elim celebrates its centenary in 2015, some of our church leaders in Scotland highlight how Elim churches are impacting their communities.

Hear how George Jeffreys and his evangelistic band held a series of evangelistic crusades in various locations across Scotland that sparked a wave of healing, people hearing the gospel and coming to know Christ.
Over the following years, Elim churches were established and are transforming the region with the love and power of God.

Much has been written about George Jeffreys due to the fact that he was the founder of the Elim and Bible Pattern movement, a little more has been said about the outstanding crusades conducted by George and Stephen Jeffreys and the amazing ways both men were used a vessels for the delivery of mighty miracles and acts of divine healing. Having said this, the greatest miracle of all seen was the salvation of countless thousands of souls.

Growing up and being part of the Bible Pattern, Elim and United Apostolic Faith Church I have seen the positive and negative sides of Christian life within a family who have know personally many of those included in the following story. Being brought up with the Biblical counsel of 1 Corinthians 14:40 “Let all things be done decently and in order”, I have set out to share this testimony of God’s goodness as encouragement, for the next generation to inspire them to embrace the full counsel of God’s word without falling into the trap of excess and bringing God’s work and Word into disrepute. I believe many have avoided ministry to the sick and the work of the Holy Spirit and by doing so have “thrown out the baby with the bath water,” so to say, because of seeing excess or failing to understand God’s Word in relation to Divine healing and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. As you read this story you will clearly see that the Acts of the Apostles did not finish at the end of the book of Acts found in the New Testament.

You may wonder why I am recalling these stories, the Bible tells us why!

The Bible-Pattern Church Fellowship was founded in 1939 by Principal George Jeffreys. Differences of opinion regarding church governance eventually led Pastor Jeffreys to withdraw from what later came to be called the Elim Pentecostal Church and form the first Bible-Pattern Church Fellowship in Nottingham in 1939.
